Public Meeting
The Board of Commissioners of Lakeland, Tennessee will hold a Public Hearing on the following Ordinance(s) entitled:
• AN ORDINANCE TO ADD A NEW SECTION TO THE CITY OF LAKELAND’S MUNICIPAL CODE AUTHORIZING THE CREATION AND FUNDING OF A MUNICIPAL SCHOOL DISTRICT IN THE CITY OF LAKELAND AND TO SUBMIT THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE CITY OF LAKELAND AT A SPECIAL RE...FERENDUM TO BE HELD ON MAY 10, 2012
• AN ORDINANCE TO INCREASE THE SALES AND USE TAX IN THE CITY OF LAKELAND FROM 2.25% TO 2.75% AND TO REQUEST A REFERENDUM OF THE PEOPLE TO APPROVE THE ORDINANCE.
The Public Hearing will be held at City Hall, 10001 U.S. Highway 70, Lakeland, Tennessee on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 6:30 P.M.

To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
PTA Mission
To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other
organizations that make decisions affecting children;
To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and
protect their children; and
To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools
of this nation.
